Psoriasis and Eczema

Who can undergo the treatment?

Patients with 10-20 % body coverage or mild / moderate cases.

Patients with stable plaque type psoriasis; characterized by raised, inflamed lesions that are covered with a silvery-white scale.

Patients who have developed psoriasis around a traumatized area.

Patients who have plaques that have not changed for at least two months.

Is the treatment painful?
No. The treatment is not at all painful. No anesthesia is necessary. While most people do not experience any sensation, some patients may feel slightly warmth. Slight sunburn sensations may be felt 4-10 hours after the treatment.

How many treatments are necessary?
On an average 4-10 treatments are necessary at 2 treatments per week, minimally 2-3 days apart. Studies have shown that most patients show 75% improvement in less than 10 treatments.

Is the treatment permanent?
As such, no psoriasis treatment is permanent. But the advantage of this treatment is that the remission period is much longer as compared to other treatments. Patients may not develop plaques in the treated area for as long as two years.
